Mikie D Outlasts Reinfart in a NON EPIC Battle

Runner-up Reinfart with 2 time Champ Mikie D

Well when you knock on the door often enough, you win eventually and that is was happened last night when Mikie D beat Kevin Reinfart 180/210 to 180/185 to win his second BBT Title of the season.

The final match was a mess...splits, missed spares early and then a decent finish, but I wouldn't rank it in the top 30 final matches of the year...by the way, this was week 31; so you get the idea.

Here is how it played out:

Qualifying was lead by Paul Pahlke, yes I said Paul Pahlke...his new bending over stance made the difference as he led by 58 pins over Kevin, Lou V, still hurting from monkeyspankasitis was third, Wazy a solid 4th, Scott Pahlke 5th, (miracle) and Mikie D snuck in 6th, dispite a 148 second game. Scores were definitely low Wednesday.

Quarterfinals - Paul Pahlke kept up his hot hand shooting 233/278 to barely beat the biggest loser, Mikie D 233/263. A real good match. You can only bowl so well after 50 beers thus Scotty P. went down in suds versus Reinfart, 236/241 to 148/194. Kevin can thank Old Style for that one.

Lou V has Wazy on the ropes mid game, with a three bagger on a Wazy open, but don't give the Wizzard of Wiz a chance cause he will take it. Lou V did not strike out in the 10th, which would have forced Wazy to strike out to win by 1 pin, instead opened giving Waz an easy 192/225 to 225/248 win over the ailing 1973 champ.

Semi-Finals

Well, you knew it would happen, Paul P against Kevin Reinfart in the semis and the Cinderella story came to a crushing end as Reinfart pounded the hope out of Pauly 267/272 to 165/210. Match 2, was a real barn burner, with nobody wanting to win...and came down to the last shot, Mikie D needed to fill 20 to win in the 10th, he pounded the hole for the first one and then left a bucket with the 7 pin for a 5 pin count...but he nailed the spare, sending Wazster to the showers, winning 153/183 to 159/182.

Congrats to Mikie D. on his second BBT win of the year after making 7 finals

Wednesday Wrap Up - The final playoff spots are up for grabs. Power to Spare, Ozone Rubes, Loudoo's, Kitchen Bath and More and King and his Court all have a chance. Wow...what a great finish it could be.

Congrats to Wazy and Fiends for their 3rd 3rd Championship and overall great season so far.

  1. Oh yeah, on the Wednesday wrap up Lou forgot some stuff. Congratulations to Waz-n-friends on winning the final third. Congratulations also on winning 2 out of 3 thirds. Congratulations also to Manzo's for going 1st and 2nd in consecutive thirds.

  2. I guess if I wanted a new last name that would be my first choice Lou. Not sure where that came from, but let's run with it anyhow. Thanks to the Pahlkes and High Compression for there support last night. By the way. Ryan is a great competitor as well as a real gentlemen on and off the lanes. He's a real pleasure to bowl with. The last two weeks the kids been snakebitten. Last week it was a solid 8 pin that allowed Tommy and the Waz to sneak in last week in Doubles ahead of us. This week it was another turn of bad luck for the kid that allowed me to sneak in ahead of him. Maybe next week will be your week. Great bowling Ryan.

  3. How do you know on the door often enough? You need a proofreader!

  4. Did anyone else see Tommy and myself " sneak in". How can the sound of a freight train coming be considered sneaking. We only threw 7 out of the last 8 to just miss the top spot by 4 pins. I am sure everybody left a few pins during the course of qualifying. Hell Gimena left at least 50 in the first game, love ya Tommy.

  5. I think you should get your eyes checked Waz. With a strike in the 9th, Ryan left a solid 8 pin on his first ball in the 10th. Best ball all night! He than covered the spare and pounded the pocket one more time for another strike. You beat us 931 to 921. We lost 20 pins on that ball. Do the math. Ritti and Rob actually came from 3rd to take the top spot because there "Freight Train" was a little faster than yours. Don't take everything so personally Waz. My comment was directed at the tough luck that Ryan has had, not at you. We approached you and congratulated both of you after we were done. There were no sour grapes on our part. You earned it.

  6. Why shouldn't I take things personally, you mentioned my team by name. Why would I need my eyes checked? Did I miss one of our strikes? Did we throw the last eight instead? I can't recall. Mike and Robs train was definately faster than ours, they were the only team on their pair. If my math is correct, and I believe it is, 931 is 10 pins higher than 921. Don't take everything so personally Mike. My comment was directed to the clutch bowling of Tommy Gimena and his great finish in the 10th.
