PJ Goes Back-to-Back!!!

PJ kept 1 of 2 unbelievable October streaks going...he is undefeated in October. Two BBT tournaments and two BBT titles for PJ. Last week Mike D. got ran over by the PJ train and this week it was Reinfart...PJ (156/214) over Reinfart(174/180).

The qualifying cut was once again very close, with Mike D. missing the cut by 2. Paul ran away with qualifying with scratch scores of 245 and 256, for a handicap total of 491. Rob D. solidly made the cut with 462. Reinfart and PJ snuck in with 438 and 428 respectively. PJ went from 8th after game one to 4th after game two. The lanes seemed a little inconsistent and it had a great effect on the cut. Mike D. and Sip tried to make a 2nd game run and came up just short. Andy caught a tough 2nd game pair and fell backwards...tough break. Kyle and Mike R. also missed the cut.

We can't move on to the rest of the results without talking about how bad Wazy has blowed the last two weeks. Back-to-back last place finishes....scratch scores this week of 175 and 155. Is Wazy washed up? Is Kevin keeping him at the bowling center too late on Mondays? What is wrong with the Wizard of Waz?

Semifinals
These were two completely different matches. One was a low scoring snore fest and the other was a solid scoring nail biter.

Rob D. vs. Reinfart was the snorer.
Both bowlers were lost and it became a game of survival. Reinfart outlasted Rob D. 191 to 168...THAT IS WITH HANDICAP!!! Nothing exciting to mention.

Paul vs. PJ was the match of the night.
Paul started off just staying clean and PJ held his own. Mid-match Paul went for the kill, but when he tried to string some strikes he ran into stone 7 and stone 8 pins. If he carries those two strikes it would have given him a 5-bagger. Instead he had to settle for a turkey. PJ kept steady and Paul just couldn't recover enough from his bad luck. Win goes to PJ 233 to 210. It was a much closer game than the score shows.

Finals

PJ vs. Reinfart
Reinfart started solid going dutch-200 through 5 frames. PJ struggled early and it looked like Reinfart was ready to pounce. Then weird karma/jinx came in...Reinfart opened his mouth about PJ picking the pair Reinfart shot 724 in league on and Waz bet Rob D. 3 to 1 that Reinfart would finish with a dutch-200. That turned the game up-side-down. Next thing you know, Reinfart has back to back opens and the door swings wide-open for PJ. PJ finished with a solid 156 scratch and that was more than enough, as Reinfart never doubled.

Afterwards PJ took his money and bought ice cream for everyone who remained. Woo-hoo!!! I hope PJ wins every week now.

Congrats to PJ on back-to-back wins. That now makes 4 members with 2 wins.

Oh, for anyone who is curious, the other October streak is the Cubs losing their last 9 postseason October games.

  1. What happened to our lovely little friend Justine. She did not bowl the BBT, claims that she was hurting a little. Maybe she was hurting for a little cash as she did find enough strength to bowl with the freeloaders, AKA, people who take advantage of Craig, AKA, practice squad. If Will has you with a lesson, that is one thing but to just come in and bowl and not even offer up a buck or two. Well that is just plain ignorance. You all know how I feel about this crap, maybe Craig will let me work the counter from 11:00 til 2:00 on Wednesday nights.

  3. Awesome job on updating the blog Kev. Can't believe you referred to yourself as Reinfart. Good bowling to both of you and thanks for the ice cream PJ.

  5. Thanks for the Ice Cream P.J., but I am not one that hopes you win every week.

  6. Waz, when you get a chance, go over to RR and fill out an app. Isn't Craig there on Friday nights? You'd look good running the place and since you run your own business, that would make you more than qualified. But, I need my doubles partner back.

  7. Thank you all for the nice comments. Craig works Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the day.

  9. I just want to clarify something. As far as the so called "freeloaders" Craig has been collecting money from everyone for the last couple of weeks so I please stop calling everyone who bowls "freeloaders" maybe if you come down there and watch the lanes.. they are no longer on PRACTICE MODE. As far as what Will does with the rest of them he does collect money from EVERYONE he works with and I would not lie about that. Anybody who has any questions you can ask me or Craig or Will about your concerns.

    Thats all

  10. Very strange, I don't recall seeing Craig there on Wed. nights. I'm sure Craig has no idea who even bowls the " take advantage of Craig " squad. That sounds better than freeloaders I must agree. I'm also sure you paid for all the games bowled in the last couople months. I know for 3-4 weeks in a row where over 40-50 games were bowled on practice mode.A generous $2 bucks a game donation I'm sure was paid. Yet league bowlers who throw a warm up game are charged with no qualms at all.
Who settled the register last Wed. to pay for those games bowled? I'm just curious. As far as what Will does, again just too nice a guy to even be brought in this shit. And I know Rob has not paid money to Will for practice and even went out of his way to pay fot it. All concerns to this matter are for Craig and Krone's eyes. Why the hell would I voice my concerns to someone who does'nt matter.

  12. Waz, I completely understand your frustrations. This has been going on for over a year now. As President of the league you bowl in you do everything that you can for what is right for your league and try to improve and expand it. I think the Wednesday night officers have done a good job of that with the new administration in the past 3 years. While trying to do what is best for the league and the bowling center, we feel that we have been walked over by other bowlers that have less dedication to the bowling center than we do. They pay less and care less and we feel it is unfair. It basically makes you question why you do the work you do to better the league or support the bowling center. I know I have come to my breaking point this year and we'll see what changes there are by/at the end of the season. Waz, I appreciate your suppor and opinions.

  13. Look Waz, I can GUARRANTEE YOU that since I was there I collected money from the juniors this past week and the week before that is for when I was practicing with them. Will also collected money as well from Rick. I DON'T KNOW what happens on any other night because I am not there. I also told Marilyn and Bob AND CRAIG that the Juniors will be put on PRE PAID MODE from NOW ON and I can assure you that is what I PERSONALLY am going to do from now on with them. WHEN THEY WORK WITH WILL I have no control of that. BUT i can definitely assure you that when they are with me they will not be in practice mode and they will be paying for their games.

I don't want to hear anymore discussion on this matter because I feel the situation is definitely being taken care of.

    Thats all

  15. Well said Kevin! I couldn't agree with you more. The work that all the officers have done to better the league has also benefitted the house. The best thing anyone can do, if you haven't done it already, is to go straight to the person that has the power to affect change based on your concerns. Concerns that are legitimate, concerns that someone else seems to be offended by. We have no greivance with them and I believe that freedom of speech is a constitutional right. For those of you that enjoy censorship, than I suggest that you move to a country where they practice it, the choices are many.

  16. Just curiuos how much are they paying for games? I would imagine at least $2 a game. Oh yeah, Daniela, don't start comments with look Waz, you really don't want to go head to head with any of us on this matter, no one called you out, don't call us out. Did you collect all the back pay, at least 200 games worth? Didn't think so.

  17. Dee,
Who do you think you are. "I don't want to hear any more discussion on this matter". If you minded your own business in the first place, we wouldn't be having this discussion with you.

  18. At last someone admitted that the lanes have been on practice mode all along and that noone had been paying, except for the last couple weeks. Thank you for telling us what we've known all along.
