Bober Outlasts Ritti in a great Championship Match

Champion Paul Bober with Runner-Up Mike Ritti

Lots of action last night as Paul Bober won his second BBT title of the year and his second in a row (he missed last week). Wazy shot 300 in qualifying, Justine made the quarter finals again and our largest field of the year competed and Rob, Dan and Lou missed the cut again.

13 bowlers shot this week, our largest field of the year. Highlights included a 300 game by Wazy in the second game of qualifying, Justine makes the cut again and some pretty high scores.

Wazy, Tittie, Dennis, Mike D, Paul and Justine all made the cut.

Here are the scores:

Quarter Finals:

Justine beat Wazy to advance to the semi's 220/214 as Wazy opened in the 10th, Paul Bober had the first 10 to pound the pee out of Tittie, but he was the biggest loser 289/243 and Mike D hit Grandpa D with his school bus 310/202...Dennis didn't see it coming...

Semi-Finals - Paul barely squeeked past Justine who missed 2 easy 1 pin spares mid game to give Paul a chance. He struck out to force Justine to strike in the 10th...not to be leaving the 3/6/10...great bowling Justine against a most difficult opponent.

The other battle of the Mike's had Ritti pounding Delmonico 275/235...I guess the school bus was out of gas.

  1. Congrats to Paul and to Mike. I must apologize for loosing my temper and getting loud while you guys were bowling. There is only too much anyone can take of Fritz and his constant it's all about me whining. I guess I finally heard enough. The BBT numbers are for everyone to see, Fritz would rather bitch about them rather than facing plain old hard facts and look at them . I have always given him a fair shake for what happened in the past with the whole sandbagging thing. I was not part of all that so all I can go on is what people say. And alot of people say it. If anyone has a problem with the way the BBT stats are kept, ask Kevin to show and explain them to you. Of all the people who have bowled on the BBT only one has a problem. 2 if you count his shadow. Kevin doesn't do whatever he wants to whomever he wants, he does what is good for the BBT. Everyone has fun on this thing, let's try not to let one bad apple spoil it for us. If you don't want to bowl, don't, but then shut the hell up and let those of us who do, have a good time. Once again I apologize to Mike and Paul for disrupting their match.

  2. Must totally commend Justine on bowling Wed. night. I heard that one of the free loaders (practice squad) tried to talk her out of bowling the BBT. It just shows you what kind of "maple moxie" this girl has. Thanks for that quote Randy. She has bowled very well and seems to be having fun. Hope she stays with us all year cuz the BBT needs fresh happy faces. Love the fact she does what she wants and doesn't follow others. You are awesome Justine, keep it going. But next time I won't open the 10th. Yeah so I sucked it up in the 10th , maybe it was the PBR.

  4. Congrats to Paul and Mike again! Thanks for kickin my arse Mike. I will beat you one of these days in match play. Nice "300" Waz! I echo your thoughts on the subject in question. I enjoy myself a great deal on Wednesday's. It's a lot of fun. Especially for the people who want to compete. And yes, let's hope that Justine bowls with us all year. It was a blast being on the same pair as her and Kyle in qualifying. I really believe that the people that bowl this actually become better bowler's, actual teaching sessions aside. Once again, thanks for all you do Kevin.

  5. Kevin, if you wouldn't mind emailing me a copy of the budget for the Wednesday Night League, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

  6. Paul, excellent shooting. Mike, hell of an effort. Waz, congrats on 300 again. Everyone is right about Justine...she is ready to compete.

Waz, very well put about the whole Brian thing. This is now two weeks in a row that I didn't say a thing to Brian all night and the first thing he is doing to me is pointing at me and call me out for doing something or admitting something. Very frustrating. I have told him time in and time out that if he wants to see the numbers I will show him. He has yet to take me up on the offer. I know he was bitching about Paul getting 5 pins, but according to the rules he had to use his 219 entering average for the first three weeks. Now that is over and he will drop. A lot of people may have had inflated handicaps, but a lot of them have now dropped...it all evens out. As Wazy also said...I too apologize for maybe being a distraction to the Paul and Mike match. There is no other person that can make you that mad, that quickly.

Also, thank you all for being so patient this week with the hand scoring...the laptop died. I also thank everyone who helped out with it. Back to the laptop next week.

Side note: Mike D., I sent you the B&I budget.

  7. Remember...Fritz is a douche bag. He complains about everything. He may not realize it but he just does.

He says that I didn't want to be his doubles partner at Forest Vue Lanes 10 years ago...I don't even remember him from Forest Vue.

Justine...what a refreshing change. Great attitude, wants to compete...knows she can beat the men and she is as pleasant as can be.

We are very happy to have her among us.

  8. Kevin - Laptop wise...maybe if you don't pick one from the garbage bin...it might work..

How old was that piece of crap you were trying to use?

  9. Lou, I was trying to use a piece of crap laptop for the same reason you keep wearing the same shirts every week: Casino, IBM, HP...

Because a bowling center is a dirty place and there are drinks and food all over. If something spills on it I don't care what happens to it as much as a nice laptop.

  10. The rules that have been set up for the BBT are more than fair. As a matter of fact, I feel very fortunate to have the Cap that I have. I don't believe anyone really has a legitimate gripe with this. The people that have won so far this year, have earned it! Nothing was given to them. If anyone thinks that all it takes is a few extra sticks of cap to win, than they really haven't watched Andy, Paul, Kevin or Waz bowl this year. A couple of "300,s" already, I can't believe it. The only thing not fair is that I wasn't on the same pair as those guys when they did it. WOW!
