  1. I have a suggestion for next years Tuesday Summer Doubles league. Some teams seem to be benefitting from a great deal of handicap.I believe that anyone who does not have an average coming in should start out at scratch and than bowl for there average over the course of the first three weeks or first 12 games. This should pretty much take care of any advantage that they have. I've heard some concern about this, myself included. Also, no drop rule at all. If you have 20 pins of handicap coming in with your average, that's all you get. No ten pin drop or even 5 pin drop.

  2. Mike the way the 10 pin drop rule works is that your average drops but your handicap SHOULD not ... I don't know why there is a 20 pin drop rule.. in all my leagues 10 pins is the least you could drop .. on the standing sheet it usually says entering average and then your real average.. but once you hit below your "REAL" average your handicap only shows the 10 pin ... kind of see what i am talking about.

I also agree that if you don't have an established "BOOK" average you should bowl scratch... but since you are moving to the right or moving to the left is a very touchy thing..

LOU ... my name is spelled

D A N I E L A ..... please learn to spell it correctly.. TY. You are ITALIAN you should know how to spell it the correct way.. my name is NOT american.

  3. If someone doesn't have a legite provable average, then they shouldn't be allowed to bowl. I mean if they've never bowled in a league before, whether it be adult or junior, then why are they bowling in a COMPETITIVE summer league like this one for their first league???
Mike-Daniela pretty much is right on the money. A drop rule means the average that is used for handicap purposes, cannot drop more than what the designated drop is from your entering average. For example, if you have a ten pin drop rule and your entering average is 200, the most handicap you can have at any given time is for a 190 average, even if your true average is 180.

  4. I think everyone in the league knows how a 10-pin drop rule works, but we can keep explaining it :) At least I have a cute partner, he's bald and sexy.

  6. You can only gain an extra 9 pins of cap with the ten pin drop rule, but coming into a competitive league with no book average and to just say I have a 160 average is not right. Kool Aid makes a good point, I was thinking the same thing. Interesting!
