  3. I highly doubt it, we still have our lead in our division. Don't look over your shoulder cause the Twins and Tigers are all over you. And for you Sox fans who were thinking the Tigers were out of it, 18-4 last month...move over cause the wild card is coming from the AL East.

  4. If I were the Cubbies I would be really worried about the Cardinals. It's the Ex-Twin & Ex-Cub factor. There names are Kyle "Cy" Lohse and Todd Wellemeyer. As I read the paper this morning the White Sox are now 2 1/2 games up. The White Sox have the longest current winning streak in baseball at 5! As long as your winning, no one can catch you. Marmol better get his head out of his arse, otherwise there bullpen is toast. The Cubs need a pitcher, because they will go nowhere in the playoffs if they don't get one. If your going to count on Marquis, Gallagher or Marshall, than you may not even make the playoffs.

  5. The best part about having such a good record, even if the Cardinals catch us, which they aren't likely to do with that rotation, we still win the Wild Card, not a luxury the Sox can afford in that division. Let me tell ya though, it sure is rough being a half game out of the best record in baseball when your #1 pitcher and one of your best hitters are on the DL.

  6. i agree with PJ... see you sOXers in the END.

Again... I would love to see both teams in the World Series.. I think the whole city would shut down.. except the bars...lol

  8. This isn't about the Sox. They already broke there winless streak. The Cubs have not won a World Series in 99 years. They have enough to worry about. The Sox were picked to finish 4th in there division by the experts. There doing great if you ask me. They also beat the "BEST" team in baseball three straight this weekend. Not bad for a team who has a lot to worry about. The best thing about the Cardinals having there (6) best pitchers on the DL is there all coming back. Mark Mulder is already back. I doubt that the Cubs would be anywhere near the lead if that happened to them. The Baseball season isn't even half over yet. The Cubs have more road games than home after the All-Star break and there terrible on the road. Let's see what happens by September. If there still in first by than, they may have a chance. Just remember, the Cardinals won the World Series in 2006 with only 83 wins and they'll be a pretty good team when all there injured players come back. Should be a lot of fun to watch.

By this weekend the Cubs should be in second place after the Cardinals pound the wee wee out of them.

  12. Cubs Fan = Cheering for Cubs, then cheers against the cardinals. Sox Fan = Cheering Against the Cubs then finding out if their team won.

If you are the cardinals and you want to hang you hat on Mark Mulder saving you, you may want to realize he hasn't thrown more than 100 innings since '05 and since '05 his ERA is over 7.50.

Perhaps you would like to disagree that the following players aren't playing over their head thus far this season:
Kyle Lohse, Adam Wainwright, Todd Wellemeyer, Yadier Molina, Ryan Ludwick.

So again, I'm not concerned, we'll be in the playoffs but I do agree we'll need 1 more arm to put together a good run at it when we get there.

  13. I have never wasted my time, energy or focus on the whether or not the Cubs win or lose.I love baseball and speaking to people who are objective and can hold an intelligent conversation about the game. Nobody needs to defend there choice of which team they cheer for. Although, some people at the bowling alley seemed to take great offense to some of us cheering for the Sox when they tied the game up in the tenth. And furthermore embarrassing themselves by shouting out , "SOX FANS SUCK."

    ReplyDelete
  14. P.J., your an intelligent guy and seem to have a reasonable handle on things. With three months to go and a lot of baseball left, let's just agree that we both love are teams and it should be a lot of fun and exciting to see what happens.

  15. LOL... so true about your comment PJ. do you think we will ever just get along with sox fans ? lol.. N E V E R ....

  17. I'm just going to concentrate my efforts on bowling, yeah...like that'll happen. I agree with ya Mike, just that someone has to bust some balls right :) As for the fans that know all too little about baseball as a whole or their team, it's not even worth the time to discuss it with them so I hear ya there on both the north and south sides of the fence.

  18. I gave this one Cub fan a ton of grief on Monday after the Sox swept because he was talking a ton of crap the weekend before after the Cubs swept em. His response: Yeah it's easy to beat us with our best pitcher and best offensive guy injured. I then had to remind him that Soriano was injured and Zambrano didn't pitch the weekend before and it didn't seem to hurt them then. I told him your a f-in idiot and walked away. I love Cub fans.

  19. Kool Aid, we are bowling 5 games for 8 weeks since we started 2 weeks later than normal because the new lanes were being installed.

    2 Weeks - 4 games
    8 Weeks - 5 games
    2 Weeks - 4 games

So you are not retarded...just a douche.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Actually Kool, the Cubs best hitter against the Sox is Ramirez. I think he was 0-for the series at The Cell. Somebody I work with said he had personal issues and couldn't concentrate. I thought having a child was a happy time in ones life. How come it didn't affect him 7 days earlier. But your right P.J., somebody has to bust balls. I just know that it would be to wild if both teams played in the World Series. I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  21. who else was terrible on the road and just won an NBA championship?? so if the NL can squeak out a win in the all star game the cubs will be fine with homefield advantage throughout the playoffs!!
