Rob Beats Hole-Man for 4th BBT Title

Rob continues his great week - Pounds Hole-man in Finals

Leftys at River Rand can be dominate on certain nights and Rob D. sure was last night as he blasted through the field to win his 4th BBT Title and increase his commanding point lead.

Rob can shoot numbers...no doubt about it and Wednesday he shot just great, shooting 204 and 235 in qualifying and then 216 in the quarter finals and saved the best for last pounding 257 and 255 in the semi's and the finals, crushing Hole-man by 50 pins with handicap, 40 scratch.

Here are the details:

15 Dee 23 170 176 392

Notes:

Two surprises...Kyle S, in only his 3rd BBT lead qualifying and Tommy Salami finally made a cut!!@#$!$!#$

Like every week, the cut line was close with Reinfart missing the cut again by only 5 pins. Lou V missed by 12, Rob F by 16. New comers Mike Cul and Mike Kski, had a tough inauguration and dating couple Cesar and Dee showed how close they really are by finishing together in 14th and 15th...ouch...

The field was cut to the top 8 for one more game of qualifying,

Perennial finalists Rob D, Pj and Mike R were joined by new-comer, self professed best bowler at River Rand, Hole-Man, who had an excellent debut. Mike R (Tittie) made his 5th semi-final in a row...definitely the hottest bowler on tour.

Poor Kyle, missed the cut by only 3 pins as the run to the semi's was close again...with 18 pins from low to cut point.

Semi-finals:

PJ Versus Hole-Man

PJ
has done very well in the BBT even though he is not the highest average bowler...but shooting again the great Hole-man is a formidable task. PJ, who if he comes out of the box with a few strikes...never got on track and was pounded by Hole-man 211/224 to 137/187...PJ, when asked for his assessment of the match said "I suck".

Rob D - VS Mike R (Tittie)

This is what is about...this was a great match, team-mate against team-mate ...Mike spared and then had a hambone...(4 bagger) but opened with a 6-3 in the 6th, Rob, who is pretty good at jumping in when he needs too, struck out from the 7th to the 12th to win 247/270 to 244/259.

Finals

Rob put it to Hole-man handily 255/278 to 215/228. Hole-man shot good and with a few breaks might have made it close...but when Rob D gets in the groove...he is tough to beat.

Congrats to Rob D...on his 4th BBT win and commanding points race lead and contender for Bowler of the Year...

  5. Less Rev's = More BBT Points? Seems to be a correlation??

  6. Just goes to show you how handicap can ruin a good thing, but you're still a great guy P.J.

  7. speaking of handicap, whenthe hell is Rob D's gonna start coming down?

  8. My handicap is quite acceptable considering my average during league play...I believe I am averaging just above 200 in the bbt now which is right in line with my league average. Of course, if i didn't sand bag so much, my handicap would be much less in both league and the bbt. :)
