Parker Bohn had 30 PBA titles coming into todays final on ESPN and has not won in 60 events. But today, you saw why he has won 31 times, striking twice and getting 9 in the 10th frame on the troublesome left lane to force Rhino Page to double and 9 to win his first PBA title.
Page confidently struck on the first ball and then spanked his monkey leaving the 3-5 on a very light hit to give Bohn the win 267-247.
Page appeared in the final round for the second consecutive week. Now that isn't that big of a deal for exempt players, but what makes it a very big deal is that he is not exempt and has to qualify through the PTQ. He has done so 7 times this year making for an amazing story. He has to beat 90+ other bowlers just to make the tournament...impressive.
Here how it played out. In the first match, Oatman def. Scroggins, 209-207 in a game that was very entertaining as Oatman picked up the 2-4-6-7-10 in the 9th. Oatman is fun to watch and has lots of passion...in the second match, Bohn spanked Billy real good 239-213; in the third match, Bohn defeated Psycho Patrick Allen, 227-214 who had N O T H I N G...soft 7, soft 7, soft 7 to set up the Championship Match.
Bohn looked very sharp and was using the same ball that Chalupa used last Wednesday to shoot 802 in the BBT. I should buy one...Will...any deals?
