BBT Bowlers - What format do you want to use???

BBT Headquarters - River Rand Bowl

In our continued quest the make the BBT as fun as possible, please give us your suggestions on what format you want to use. Keep in mind the time element and how late we finish...

But if you have an idea...please post it in the comments section below.

  1. Something we have yet to try, and I'm not even sure if I like it. But assuming 12 bowlers:
3 sets of 4 bowlers, bowl 2 games, top two advance from each set of 4.

Down to 6 from there, head to head winners advance to a 3 man final game.

  2. PJ, that sounds like a good format. I believe Chalupa also suggested that same format. After some more discussion I would suggest we add that to our rotation.

  3. or sets of 3.... 4 winners plus 2 wild cards?

  4. I think one of the things we are going to try to eliminate is having a 3-man championship. So if we can help it we need to stay away from having 6 people remaining. Unless we can cut that 6 down into 3 winner and then a wild card as well.

  5. I was there on wednesday watching and it was interesting. But, the PBA doesn't award bonus pins for a victory. That's like getting extra cap. You've already leveled the playing field by giving the handicap. Start out with match play right from the beginning. Best bowlers move on. For example; 16 bowlers to 8 bowlers to 4 bowlers to Championship match and a consolation match for 3rd and 4th. You could also do this by creating seperate brackets every week. Winners and losers brackets. Winners bracket for the championship and losers bracket for 3rd and 4th.
